dear prosthetists, dear anaplastologists,
dear ladies and gentlemen.

We proudly welcome you to the 24th symposium of the International Association of Surgical Prosthetics and Epithetics, which will again be hosted in the city of Linz.

This year, the symposium is dedicated to marginal domains in surgical prosthetics and epithetics. Experts will give you up-to-date information on all aspects of the marginal domains with its special needs and challenges. There will be for example a lecture on plastic surgical management of burns. The domain of special tracheostomy appliances is gaining more and more attention. Professor Kristof Vaes (PhD), Assistant Professor of Design / Care & Care Technology at the Universtity of Antwerp, will give a keynote lecture on design and camouflage of craniofacial prostheses.

Distinguished members of the Institute of Maxillofacial Prosthetists and Technologists (IMPT) will support our symposium with outstanding contributions. In this way, we are again to expect a superb congress with current scientific papers. Great opportunities for lively exchange of information are provided by the format by posters sessions with wine & cheese as well as workshops, which proved to be very successful during the last meetings. Again the innovation prices will be awarded for anaplastologists as well as physicians. Following the I.A.S.P.E. business meeting on the first conference day, we will take advantage of elaborating the topics at the get-together.

The gala evening will be held in the Linz Ars Electronica Center (AEC). It will be all about 3D. Prof. Dr. med. Franz Fellner will take you on a spectacular journey into "Deep Space" and show you his concept of "Cinematic Rendering – Anatomy meets cinema". Due to this project, Prof. Fellner was nominated fort he German Future Award 2017. You will take part in a virtual breathtaking downhill ski ride on the legendary Kitzbühel "Streif". Thereafter, you will enjoy highlights of Austrian cousine in the Sky Loft.
